Property Maintenance Operative Apprenticeship to go live 1 January 2023

Good news! IFATE have confirmed Property Maintenance Operative Apprenticeship is now fully approved, with a go-live date of 1st January 2023, and a revised funding band of £14,000 per apprentice.

IFATE will shortly publish the new versions online, so please do keep a watch on the website: Apprenticeship search / Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education.

Please note: This apprenticeship only applies to England due the nature of devolved education and skills policies across the four nations of the UK.

Over the past month, we have also been contacting training providers, and finding out more information on who delivers the current programme.

All of these training providers will have had sight of the proposed revisions and changes to end point assessment and should be making changes to their programmes in advance of the go-live date.  However, it would be pertinent for those of you that wish to take on apprentices, to have direct discussions with training providers, to make sure that the content and delivery methods are suitable for your needs.

The standard offers employers a ‘threshold level of competence’ and if there are any additions you might want to add, now would be a good time to start discussing these with your chosen training partner.

Employers also have a choice of End Point Assessment Organisation, and we have received good support from these organisations. However, we do wish to make the point that employers do have the right to choose.

Details of EPA organisations can be shared on request – you are then able to contact them to make that choice. These organisations will also be putting into place the revisions they will require, and will also be moderating the cost of EPA services, so please be advised that changes may happen there too.

We’d also love some good news stories and great case studies from you in the future – apprenticeships can make a real difference to individuals, and to business operations.

If you do have any questions, please do get in touch.
